  • About ISN
  • ISN President's message

The International Society of Nephrology (ISN) is an organization dedicated to advancing worldwide kidney health. We bridge the gaps of available care through advocacy and collaborations with our global partners. We build capacity with healthcare professionals via granting programs, education and research. By connecting communities, we develop a stronger understanding of how to manage kidney diseases and engage in a collaborative effort to improve prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

Our overarching purpose is to tackle the global burden of acute kidney injury (AKI), chronic kidney disease (CKD) and end-stage kidney disease (ESKD), improving patient care through an interconnected advocacy, education and research strategy.

For more information, visit the ISN website.

Taking place every year from 2020, the ISN World Congress of Nephrology (WCN) is our premiere international educational event. For each edition, we work with a great number of local and regional nephrology societies to support ISN's mission of building a future where all people have equitable access to sustainable kidney health.

WCN is targeted at the international nephrology community and other healthcare professionals involved in multidisciplinary kidney care. Every year, it provides a valuable opportunity for professionals from all parts of the world to learn and exchange views on a wide variety of topics.

Thanks to a new format, delegates can now choose from several innovative and high-level educational courses. For WCN 2020 specifically, highlights will include new courses on rare renal genetic diseases as well as epidemiology and clinical trials.

Join us at WCN 2020 in Abu Dhabi from March 26 to 29, 2020.

Vivekanand Jha,
ISN President & WCN 2019 Chair
